Wholly Kaw 1776 Shaving Soap is made using their latest soap base, Siero. The scent fresh and green with notes of osmanthus, benzoin, labdanum, grapefruit, artemisia, tarragon, patchouli, musk, tonka bean and cedarwood. Siero, which means 'whey' in Italian, is made using whey protein from donkey milk and water buffalo milk. It also contains beef tallow, water buffalo tallow, water buffalo milk, donkey milk, flax seed and hops extract. Flax seed is known for its omega-3 and omega-6 content which have long been recognised as essentials for healthy looking skin and hop extract is added for its anti-inflammatory and anti-angiogenic properties.

Delivery

holy cow

there a lot of positive reviews on this soap base and having tried it for the first time today, I can see why. the scent is 2/5 in the tub rising to 3/5 on lather - don't expect to be knocked out by the strength but do expect to be bowled over by how refined and elegant it smells both during and after the shave,
Onto the lather... I always use a light load when first testing a new soap. This base is reasonably thirsty and isn't a 'huge' lather bomb but does whip up nicely in no time at all.
And now the shave... oh my word... I own many 'top flight' soaps but this is in a league of its own. The first first pass of the razor just felt like the same blade and razor combo I always use was cutting with noticeably less effort and more efficiency. Very impressed. Post shave my skin felt smooth and hydrated - moreso than most the other premium soaps I own.
Normally I find it hard to justify the premium price for many hyped soaps but honestly, this is a keeper.
